Swope Memorial Golf Course is a Public , 18 hole golf course located in Kansas City , Missouri.

Swope Memorial Golf Course first opened for play in 1934. The course was designed by A.W. Tillinghast.

Swope Memorial Golf Course features rolling fairways, beautiful mature trees and small undulating greens. The home of the PGA Tour's Kansas City Open during the 1940s, Swope Memorial is the only public course in Kansas City area to have hosted a PGA Tour event.

"The Guide to Kansas City Golf" states, "From a golf purist's perspective, if you had to pick the area's best classic venue, those who know this course would say Swope is it."

The course was closed in 1989 to be restored to its original Tillinghast design of 1934. The "new" Swope Memorial re-opened in the summer of 1990, and has become a marvelous course with a rich tradition. The golf course is a par 72 and measures to 6,274 yards.

Fun, historic golf course.

Would travel: 20-30 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing

Great Tillinghast design in 1934, great condition except for a few of the tee boxes. Not very long but the large tree lined fairways and small greens make it a good challenge. Probably not the best venue for beginners!

Would travel: 20-30 Miles
Bottom line: I would play again, Ranks with the best in this price level, Best course in the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
